Movies, Endings, and Future?

I always hate when movies end and the credits roll. These vivid stories are suddenly over with no true ending. The movie will hint at the future but we don't know what that looks like. Over time, I started creating my own ending. I illustrate in my mind what the future is for these characters. Sometimes, I am happy with an ending. More often, a movie ends poorly.

It's a lot like life. I don't know what the ending is when I'm taking my last breath and going back to Heaven. I can guess and plan, but ultimately it is in God's hands. I can't watch the second movie and peek at my future but I can grow closer to God and receive a hint or two.

This blog has been abandoned and only revived because of the pandemic. I used to have viewers from ten or so countries. Becoming an adult leaves one in a position to let things go.

Perhaps I will revive this blog to inspire me to write and read more. I have so many thoughts cluttered in my mind and nowhere to put them. I shall leave them here.

I think a lot about how the United States is in a post 9-11 world and soon the US will be in a post-covid or post-pandemic world. That's an odd thought. Something tragic happens, we give it a name, and move on. In the words of Taylor Swift, everything has changed. School is online, the church is sometimes online, socializing is often done over zoom, and many lives have crumbled under the economic pressure.

Hope is present, God is in control, all will be well. Tragic things occurred so we found a way to cope. Horrible things happen but hope still remains.

Thanksgiving

I just realized this will be my first Thanksgiving without either of my brothers. This is hard to face as we have always spent that time together, no matter which parent "got us" that year. Now, as one lives far away and the other is going to his in-laws, I am left to celebrate without my favorite nerdy brothers. However, despite this slightly depressing sentiment, I am grateful for the family I will have at Christmas, namely my sister and brother-in-law.

All this thinking makes me grateful for the extra efforts I made in the past, knowing they would grow up before me. The few times we have all together are incredibly sweet and cherished. It still hurts not to have them ten steps down the hall, but I am happy for their great success.

Time passes so quickly now, years go by at an accelerated rate. Everything felt so slow as a child and now it seems like I'm ahead of some people my age, and falling behind others. Again, bringing forth the point that there is no set order for life and each individual chooses what they want.

Watching young people play and always remembering to treat them with equal respect as that is all I ever wanted as a child.

Analyzing Fashion and Shopping

Throughout my childhood, my parents had divorced and money was tight. Naturally, this meant hunting for bargains and wearing things I didn't always like. As status changed and shopping could be a little less price-conscious, my mother taught me to analyze the fabric content. If something was was not genuine leather, cashmere, or wool, she would discourage me from buying it. This could sound snobbish, but it makes sense. Natural fabrics breathe better, last longer, and are more comfortable.

This attention to quality has taught me to be a very strategic shopper. If the fabric is not comfortable, I simply do not buy it.

Over the years, it became my mission to dress well at all times. Trading my Downeast basics for Nordstrom Rack gold.

As a teenager, I wanted to be trendy, which resulted in a lot of purchases that I rarely wore. Whatever trendy item came along I would try to find and wear. This became a problem as I did not know what my personal style was. It took years to give up the facade of current trends in favor of my personal style. Masculine silhouettes are replaced by the frills, lace, and pink I adored as a child.

The great thing about defining one's style is that it limits the need to shop. I already have a closet of clothes that I love, there's no need to buy more trendy pieces I'll be getting rid of in six months. This also brings a sense of confidence that does not exist when trying to match the teens of the day.

I do not own, nor have I tried many trends teens seek. I have no need for masculine graphic tees with a long sleeve shirt layered underneath, mom jeans, or the ugliest chunky sneakers.

This is not to say that I do not focus on trends or note what is the style for the season, but that I do not obsessively seek out trends I don't actually like. This alone has grown my confidence as an adult, not needing to conform to the trends of the day.

Life has no straight line explanation of what to do. Yet as an adult, there are so many options it can be dizzying. How does one choose a major at college, a job to work towards, or a companion?

Truth is no one knows. Despite how the older generation acts, they were not any better than we are at life decisions. Time passes and things change, often outside of one's control. Choices have to be made, and whether they're right or not, is hard to tell.

The question of why hardships come to some and others glide by with seemingly few difficulties. The strength of a person to overcome difficulties and learn from said hardships, why some become strong at a young age and others only their realize strength in old age.

The giant's shoulders to stand on and those who came before. Beautiful names that frame who we are. People from various countries throughout the world and the stories that brought them to one's country and how you came to be. Such a beautiful testament to God's purpose for your life and existence.

Seeing the face of a relative you never had seen. So familiar though unknown.

Genealogy is popular for a reason because the confusion of this world leads us to seek our ancestors, understand our roots. There is peace in this as they make up who we are, whether they live or have already gone on.

Written on November 5, 2015

Surrounded by beautiful things to look at, I  stare at the mountains, the sky, and all of the wonderful people surrounding me. How was I blessed to look at such beautiful  of mountains, why such amazing of people. Why was I blessed with such wonderful of things. Why are the skies so blue, the clouds so white, and the colors so pungent. Why in a world as awful, terrifying, wicked, and crude, why would it be full of such beauty, love, and goodness. Why in such a place, would God place us to learn. Why would he know to do such a thing. That it would be the best place for us to learn. That we could not learn what we need to and become who we are, in a place rich with despair, sickness, and hate, would God place people loving, kind, and pure, to teach others to be so. Why would humble circumstances make a man mighty and mighty circumstances make a man to be humbled. How could a man as mighty, wonderful, and loving as God is, allow us to be broken, bloodied, and barren. How did he know that through such hard circumstances, situations, and people, we would come to know him, come to know right, come to know Christ, and come to know him.  What would he mean to teach us by putting us through hardship, sorrow, and grief. If not to know, love, charity, Christ, and sympathy. If not meant to learn, grow, and return to God, what else? What is the most important thing? What would a life as long and short, beautiful and horrid, as this life is, mean to merely, well, us? Why would we know such heartache, well knowing such strength. Riches, while knowing such humility. Splendor while knowing such space. If Heavenly Father meant for us to be so strong, he meant for us to be weak, too. He meant for us to gain strength and power, while knowing who was behind all of this strength and power. He knew that we would need to have help, hurry, and honor. He knew we would need a guide, a compass, and friend. These would sometimes not be needed, this is a familiar path, we may walk alone. But, we would come to know, that even in the easiest of times, our guide was following us all along the way, ready to spring on any threat, help us through any difficulty, and teach what we needed to learn. And oddly enough, we were not given a perfectly marked path, but one with detours and confusion, pitfalls, and hardship, but not without plenty of joy, compassion, perseverance, and love.

Confusion, complexity

This age is strange, a weird mixture of youth and responsibility. On one end, no longer a minor, confidentiality is a huge issue. It's strange going about life so independently, yet still knowing that family is so close. Decisions are mine, but not my own alone. Sometimes the world seems to crumble in the hands of incompetent individuals, while other times, clarity and hope are brought by the small actions of others. Memories flood my mind of when others have thought to help me, or another stranger.

It is crazy how the smallest actions to distance oneself from another can end up being the most important actions to move on from pain. Who really knows, perhaps in the end, it could cause more pain. However, sometimes distance is necessary.

It is crazy how complex lives are. Each individual has a life of their own. A young child may be worried about her baseball team, dance class, her younger siblings. Her mother may be worried about her husband who is sick, but does not want to tell the children.

Thoughts remain in the brain and unheard unless expressed somehow.

It is a fact that when a person has angry feelings that they do not express in some way, they end up in a very uncomfortable position.

How does a person know if they have made the right decision? A feeling of peace or relief. The wrong decision coupled with regret, fear, or stress. A stupor of thought.

Hardship.. knowing that difficult things happen despite a person's best efforts. Bad things happen to good people. A test of character and a purification of their heart and mind, in a non-literal way. But, it does not always happen that way. Sometimes hard times cause bitterness, fear, pain. These feelings remain for a time, years, a lifetime.

Forgiveness, how do people forgive when others nearly destroy their lives, them as a person. Differences exist, clearly, but destruction occurs when others place their way of life on a person's heart, expecting them to accept. Despite best efforts, even when intentions appear pure, this can cause significant stress when a person tries to ignore their roots but cannot.

Conclusion. Though these ideas are not wholly original or even mildly exciting, it appears that they are important. Explained by a younger mind, perhaps they are significant. That is for the reader to determine.

The People of Retail

Working retail is a strange occupation. On one hand, you must focus on the assigned work and completing necessary tasks. On the other hand, there is this sincere desire to find what people need and to connect with them.

Help a person find shin guards for their daughter and matching pink socks. I smile, if I had the chance to play as a child, I would have asked for both pink socks and shin guards like her. Or the old people who have a far off, loving look in their eye. Who give advice. The old man who says, "Thanks Brooke." And says to his grandson, "see, she smiles when I say her name." And as he approaches the door he says, "it's something you pick up on over the years."

Working through clothing to be put away, shelves to straighten, and tags to place is a sort of drudgery similar to household chores. Necessary to daily store operation but not the favorite. However, the connection to people seems to be the reason that it is worth it.

It seems that the quiet and insane simplicity of retail work allows time for the mind to wander. Though there is constantly music blaring, I find myself pondering on life's issues. Schooling, family, money, the direction the world is going in, or people in general. It seems the same conclusions pop into my mind.

I realize I have a better memory than I thought, or that old friends just happen in. Short conversations in an effort to keep up on the work, but knowing that they still care about me. Seeing that people care about each other as they share coupons. They may never cross paths again, yet they want to be of assistance.

Even the homeless people, for the most part seem to have good in them. Though their lifestyle of begging is potentially controversial, it is clear that they are trying to get through the best way that they know how.

Each day at work will get long or boring, but then something small will happen. A small gesture by a person asking how my day is going, the use of my name as it is visible on my lanyard, or a coworker will crack a joke. Small things that show we each care about each other and make an effort to improve another's day.

I guess, too, the realization that as other's work through their own personal pain, they need to be loved. Imposing personal beliefs upon a person will not aid the situation. People just need love. Though sometimes a hard lesson to learn, it is entirely necessary to be a good human being.

In conclusion, I have learned throughout my life, but especially lately, that we need to love others, but also accept their love and care for them.

Desire

I want to wear a blazer everyday, because in a way it symbolizes class, power, and intelligence. To be in an environment where my ideas are valued and my thoughts considered. Perhaps a medical doctor, lawyer, nurse, or businesswoman. Perhaps all at once somehow. To do charity work for those in desperate need of love and care. To write and read and just be. To have all the skills necessary to be successful and all of the education to be respected. May be just a dream, or a very near truth.

Heartbreak

As defined by Merriam Webster, heartbreak is, "crushing grief, anguish, or distress." Most hear this word and think of a breakup or familial problem. Perhaps issues with friends, or finding the right friends. But it has become clear to me that, though such a feeling not desirable, it is necessary to experience joy. It allows one to have something to compare it to.

For me, I am becoming increasing aware of how independent I am and my ocassional unwillingness to accept the help of others. Perhaps it is not such a bad thing after all. In a world like this, independence is entirely necessary to secure a good life for oneself. Who knows.

The one thing I do know, it isn't a bad thing to do things on your own and forge your own path along the way. Often, it is even better.

Perseverance

Perseverance: ___________ As defined by_____. I realize now that this is something I have had to learn through all that has happened this school year, and all the years before. It is an element I have always had, but not one that has always been there. Sometimes I get lazy and I don't do as much work as I should. It is something that as you get older you realize the importance of. And while I am officially graduating, I am excited to begin work on my bachelor's degree, more excited than I ever thought. I know that University is fun, and I am SO close!

Curious when I wrote that last paragraph...I never put in the definition. Here it is: Perseverance, noun, "steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success."

Sure?

Not so sure what to write about today. I feel so good and ready and excited for the future. Much has happened to help build it over the past few months and years. I won't say exactly what that is, but it rings true today as it ever has, pursue what you seek, work towards your dreams, and be patient. A lesson my grandma taught me when I asked her. It is truly odd how things turn out and who you end up being surrounded by. Oddly enough, it usually is not who you thought. Often, the few people you say hello to, walk past in the hallway, or even hang out with as children are often the ones around you. Not to say that we have to super worried and focused, but that we take care in how we treat others and what we say to them. For sometimes to have one good friend is to have the world.

Adulthood.

It seems to be a mixture of work, family, friends, and public appearances. We want other people to think that we have our lives together, houses clean, and nice cars freshly washed. We want them to think that we don't have any problems and we always have the perfect outfit. We work our dream jobs and vacation somewhere cool every summer. We visit the Bahamas, or Iceland, or Hawaii. Caked on mascara, bright blonde bleached hair, ruining an already small intellect. Perhaps cute photos of your family, or professing your love to your husband. No, not the adulthood I dreamed of. It seems peace is gone in a world searching for it. Families don't talk or play anymore. It is no longer slip on your clothes, or your swimsuit and let's have a good time! But, slip on your perfect fitting, brand new, trendy, unique, and expensive bathing suit. Not so much, "Oh, just go off to school and study," but, "build a career, make us proud, and look good while doing it." Not so much social media, but as antisocial as it gets. Children have many troubles and issues as our world continues in a downward spiral. Perhaps that insta gram worthy top, or those carefully articulated words are not the enemy, but the fact that we do them, and they are so important to us. Perhaps we are more flawed than we ever realized. More than face tune could ever fix. But, no, we don't show the world that. We are smart, kind, intelligent, and boss.

Slip on a clean shirt, the shorts you wore yesterday, and your old tennis shoes. Eat breakfast quickly, almost quietly. Grab some water, a granola bar, and your bag for lunch. Don't forget the sunscreen. Also, read a little bit quick. Zip up the tent drink some water and we are off. No photos required, we have to eyes for that. Stories we will tell our children when they wonder what we did as kids. We will journal when we get home. It is time we left, the sun is almost up and we are burning daylight. Up the hill, through the trees, take a left. Stop, breathe, and appreciate the beauty. The fresh, bright, blue sky. The white mixed in, just ever so slightly, the soft hum of bugs, heading off for the morning. The dog smells something, it is time we set off, in pursuit of a new, pretty view. The sun is up, time for a small snack. Family friends, work, and public appearances, haven't showered in three days. Best feeling ever.

A Blog About PAPER

Paper was originally created out of papyrus by the ancient Egyptians. As time went on, it evolved to something we know now. See, in the olden days, paper was not viewed as old fashioned and stupid. No, not just something for school, or grocery lists, or wedding invitations. No, now it is more of a nuisance. Why would I write it down, when I can put it on my phone? Perhaps even paper is becoming old fashioned. But, would that not be a problem? I mean, what about the, "next generation," or even our own kids? What about the fact that paper decomposes and even the founding document of the United States is barely preserved? Or the fact that one no longer prints pictures unless it is on purpose. Or perhaps the fact that no one cares to write letters. All emails, or photographs only shared through social media. Or the fact that some would rather watch a tutorial online, than actually attend the fitness class. Or real class, for that matter. How is there not an issue in online education, online registration, or virtual reality? Or that we have no real care for people, and social media increases that problem. But, even in reading old books, or books about old times, a connection can be found. They dealt with the same issue that we do, only they did not exploit their problems on a screen, or fake their issues there too. Perhaps it has just snowballed to a time when few care for others, but prefer to care for themselves, and only now is it apparent, obvious, or visible. For a large ego was to be seen, but not so much visible later, when others could distort ones image of another, or even themselves. Only now, as I am finally reading a genre I had once abandoned, do I realize that it is the same issues, only now, the disconnect is not only a physical disconnect, but an emotional and mental one. A problem I am certain goes far beyond forcing little children to pose cute for their mum's instagram. Or ignoring the fact that diversity is more present and more important than we realize. Just like the fact that I never realized Antonio is an Italian name.

Something I realized as I read a book. A book where the girl moves to New York from Ireland, takes a job in a shop, and does evening courses in Bookkeeping, with the hope of becoming an accountant.

But, of course, it is set in the fifties. And, I have yet to finish it, only been reading it a short time.

BUCKET LIST AND JUMPING OUT OF PLANES YO

Thoughts are funny. I mean to an extent we all read each others minds. In a simple way. Not that we have that talent as people, but if we listen, our "intuition" or "gut feeling," is usually right. "What the mind believes, the mind can achieve." Which is funny, I mean, how do we even know that? How can we tell another's feeling, even when we do not know their thoughts? I suppose it would be categorized as a spiritual connection. Something, that if you know a person in the right way, in a kind, loving, respectful way, you just know. You can tell. It is a funny thing. It is beautiful. And well, truthfully, the connections we make with other people are really what make life meaningful and worthwhile. What would life be without someone to share it with, someone to mourn with. Someone to experience crazy things with. Someone to JUMP OUT OF A PLANE WITH. (Cough Cough BUCKET LIST..Sorry mom, I will be sure to wear a parachute!) But, really, life is about the people you know. The issues you get through with those people, the bonds you form with strangers and family alike.

Old Woman

She sits quietly as she listens to her grandchildren's chatter. She knows the feeling of that age, long ago, when the world seemed simple in a beautiful, innocent, free way. She knows this world is beautiful now, but in a different way. A way that has changed her. Her children know much of her, her husband more, and yet her siblings more.
Grand stories of adventures, both alone, and with her husband. She knows so much. Attending different universities. Trying unique food. Connecting with people around the world. Inspiring all that she could. She does not realize or remember every detail as freshly, but she has kept them. In a place only an idea a hundred years ago. A place her children love for all of the unique people that inhabit it and inspire others. All of the people they claim as role models. She carefully tells stories of long ago. As a child in a "broken," home. Of life with two crazy, rambunctious brothers. Of siblings she never knew she would have, but that she learned to love anyway. Of parents she only heard about in books, but never knew she would know them. Of families that are split, but just as good, if not better. For she would not know so many wonderful people, if not for them. Of changing schools. Of hobbies as a child. Of those who inspired her. Of her lovely grandmother. Of the weekends and breaks doing chores and playing with her dogs as a Senior. Her grandfather, who passed earlier, but who inspired her to pursue unique activities, and allow her brightness to shine. Of her other grandfather, still present at the end of school, who felt distant at times, but who took her on horse rides, and all of the times discussing a range of topics, inspired by his magazines. Her mother and father, though very different people, similar in enough ways to make her feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Intelligent people, she says. Both well read, college educated, and kind. Both in their own fight for justice, mercy, and goodness. And both caring enough to guide her through her dreams, and let her pursue them, with enough support. Both teaching her to work hard for what she wanted. Both able to calm her, inspire her, and help her. Both truly have her best interest at heart, as I do, and as your parents do.
Adventures, she says, are not limited to travel and wilderness, but to the people you go about daily life with. Those who inspire you, those you read about and feel connected with. Those you relate to. Those who help you through a hard time. Those who convince you to push through the hard times. And those insane enough to help create your ideas, even when they question what you are doing. Those who help you to follow God, who humbly go about their lives, in pursuit of bettering themselves, and those around them. Those around who are kind, who truly care about you, and who refuse to use you. Those who choose to be your friend, simply because they can. Those who inspire you to pursue what makes you feel good, what makes you feel better, and what makes you feel connected to God and Nature. SO, to eighty year old me, above all, pursue these things, pursue what you know, and pursue the good people in your life. So that when this day comes and you are teaching your young grandchildren, they feel nothing but love, devotion, respect, and interest. And, most importantly, follow your dreams, you will only regret it if you do not. Do your best to be kind, loving, grateful, and strong. Follow God, follow your dreams, and help others. That is all I ask. Love, your seventeen year old self. Wednesday, April 27, 2016, 1:26 AM

JUST DO IT. NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.

(Insert Shia Lebouf Motivational video***) I am consistently realizing that my dreams are not so far fetched, my life does have merit, and that I can pursue any dream that I have, whether "realistic," or not, whether through my eyes or another. Life is not so complicated as we let it seem. When I am fifty years old, I can have a youthful of an attitude as I have now. I can dress young, talk smart, and dream big. No matter my age. In my favorite movie, Gilbert Blythe says that, "Being smart is better than being good looking." This is a sentiment that I agree with. I do not have to spend heaps of money, or hours on end to look good to impress others. Besides, all of that powder, mascara, and lipstick comes off at the end of the day. So it really is just an illusion. I feel like confidence and intelligence will serve you better in the long run anyway, more than globs of makeup that break you out. Dreams are much like life and life is much like dreams. When I get enough sleep I consciously, or perhaps unconsciously experience some pretty school stuff. And that inspires me to pursue those things when I wake up. Because, I think about it enough subconsciously that I experience it in my dreams. Perhaps they are so far fletched after all. Perhaps I will fly tonight, just before I wake up.

Dreams

Truck. Mud. Hills, Mountains. Adventures. Freedom. With a group of friends and family, we head up the mountain. Muddy, Scary, Control. Who is at the wheel, I cannot tell... Trees, cliffs, fear. Safety. MUD. We see some cartoon characters. Artfully crafted, they hang between trees like masks in a Haunted house. Trees, everywhere. Finally, we arrive at the lake. It is mid morning.
We don our swimsuits and head in. While still near the small dock, we notice a large green colored van, in front of it a fire truck, on another area of the dock, a larger part for vehicles. We wonder why the firetruck is there. He backs up. We search the water for anything. Then, bobbing about ten yards away from us is a motionless body.
We then notice a water park behind the lockers and restrooms. We head over. We slide down, having a grand old time! I look over, the body is still there. I cannot tell if the firetruck is still there. We head back. It is time to head home. Back to the trucks, back down the mountain. I wake up. It was all just a dream.

50 Things That Me Happy: Part One

1. The endless feeling when you reach at the top of a hill
2. Music - Classical, Ed Sheeran, anything with a good beat
3. Family- Immediate, extended, friends that feel like family, and those that have gone before.
4. And the stories they write.
5. Smiles - Anyone, when they smile is beautiful and it makes me feel close to this world. It is not broken yet, is it?
6. Memories - Just the thought that I have lived longer than this moment, this moment is precious, and will continue to live past the here and now!
7. Children - When they play, whether with me or not, and basically any other time. For, as I leave childhood, that is all they know, mud, dirt, friends, family, recess, school, and bright colors.
8. Books - Any kind really, a thought provoking title, freshly printed, in a bookstore. Worn, maybe a little old looking in a library.
9. Reading- Any book as long as they do not have a hopeless view. That is just depressing. Especially thought provoking text. Anything new, a new author, bestseller, and continuous flow of ideas. Anything that makes you feel equally nostalgic, excited, and content.
10. Brothers- They just make you feel good about life. They are weird and fun and seem to always have new ideas and things to do. They are endlessly curious, which makes me even more curious.
11. Boys- They just seem to understand in a way that girls could never know. They often know exactly what to say to simplify the craziness in my mind. Not to mention, they are way simple in comparison to girls and rarely cause drama.
12. Friends - They are just the ones to laugh your head off with! At just about anything. Or you all just laugh at something stupid and then wonder why.
13. Church- I always feel so full when I leave. My soul is empty as I enter, and as church goes by, I just fill full of light, love and forgiveness. It is indescribable the joy I feel, around those who believe as I do and will help me all I can. It is beautiful.
14. Curly Hair- It is just so unique. Anyone with that frizzy, gorgeous, crazy hair! YES! Love it!
15. Typing- Because it means I am saying something that I care about, that I want the world to hear, even if just for a moment before they scroll on.
16. Photography... The ability to capture whatever you want and any way that you want. It literally freezes a moment. Unlike a video, you can see it for so long. Analyze the colors, the texture, the faces, the environment, the glow of light, or the lack of it.
17. Light- Something that is not always present, but something that you know is always in your life. Something that we do not always have. Something, that when present should be captured, drank in, and remembered. It makes everyone look lovely. It makes me feel closer to God, whether it is physical light from the sun, or spiritual light from God. It repairs the broken parts of my soul, and puts a smile on my face. It allows one to stop in the moment, reevaluate, and see the abounding goodness in other people.
18. Heavenly Father, God, The Big Man Upstairs
19. Jesus Christ, the Atonement, and Miracles
20. Dogs - Young ones, old ones, and especially the ones I run with.
21. Running- Outside, on a fresh crisp morning, or a chilly night. Or a cold rainy morning when you wonder why you left the house in less than a down coat.
22. Love- Both romantic love, and the kind that you feel when someone is down and you just embrace them as if to say, "I will always be here and you can get through this."
23. Feeling - Both the kind you get from nerves in your body, and the kind that make you smile, cry, scream, or speak.
24. Wind - Even when it's cold and hazy and you wish it would leave. It is a feeling that we rarely recognize as beautiful, but it is.
25. Color - It is true what they say, life without color would be so much less fun and amazing. I would gladly lose sight if not for color, and sound, if not for classical music.
26. Talent - Because I believe it is something God gives to each of us in different ways, beautiful.
27. Writing- The realest way to express how you feel.
28. Doctors- 1. because I want to be one 2. Because if you get the right one, they usually can figure out what is wrong. 3. Because watching an operation or a needle poke is one of the coolest things you will ever see!
29. Bodies - Because a lot of things can go wrong, but the majority of society and the world have bodies that work, even if their minds are a bit more of a challenge. Simply that the cardiovascular system, nervous system, and muscular system all work together without fail. That the body operates with minor issues, for the majority of the world population, for the majority of their lives.
30. The mind- Because a lot can go wrong, but for most they usually work well up until age sixty, or longer. Honestly a miracle, and beyond fascinating to study. That each hemisphere works independent of the other and they combine as an infant grows. By the age of say thirty, one can drive, speak, write, learn, understand, compile, and think critically without really thinking at all. Something you learn, as you go about life and your career of choice teaches how to do so.
31. Dreams - Both imagining your wildest dreams and pursuing the ones you had awhile ago.
32. Fresh air through a window on a spring day.
33. Rain - It feels fresh, clean, clear, and freeing.
34. Sunshine- Because vitamin D is good for your health and also feels so good! Not to mention, it gives one a strong feeling of strength, ability, and freedom.
35. Inspiring people. Not the kind that overcome obstacles and become famous, but the ones that continue to work because they know that their is much work to be done. They continuously pursue their dreams, and because they believe it and persevere, they make it. Life has meaning because they were willing to take a risk and pursue a beautiful dream, despite obstacles. They feel it is their calling and they tirelessly pursue, knowing they have yet to fill the need for it in the world.
36. Blogging - It is a freeing platform because so few read it. Unlike journaling, it allows me to put my thoughts out for someone to read besides myself.
37. Water, because anytime I drink it I can feel so free and able to conquer the world. It literally helps the body to function, as it is between seventy-five, and eighty percent water. The brain is also surrounded by water, followed by the skull, muscle, and skin.
38. Road trips, nothing says free quite like ten hours in the car on the open road.
39. Business- Something overlooked by most, but for the entrepreneur, it is a lifestyle that they love.
40. Magazines about things. It doesn't matter what about, but they give you a glimpse into what a certain time period felt like and what was happening at the time, what the body does and how it works, or even a specific topic and view one wants to learn more about.
41. Joyous people- Their joy and light just bounces off of them and you wonder when you last smiled so big. They have magnetic personalities, they seem to know that life is a beautiful challenge, that we can all appreciate.
42. Being alone - As odd as it sounds, it is very comforting to just sit alone somewhere comfortable and get to know yourself or to read and write, to study, to learn, to create, to run, to sew, to eat, to cook, to bake, to climb, to color, and to conjugate. I miss french class.
43. Scriptures, something about the spirit they bring, the joy one feels as questions are answered, and the comfort they bring in a dark world.
44. Quotes - because somehow they inspire me in a way nothing else can. To find the depth in them, the meaning, and the wisdom. The fact that someone crafted that and edited it, like I often do. That they wrote meaning more than just on a page, but something they know will inspire others for hundreds of years to come.
45. Old people. They have more wisdom than most other people. They have this calm, loving quality that makes you feel okay about life and the direction you are going. That it will all work out in the end. This feeling that slows down your life and helps you get your priorities straight. They allow you to see the big perspective, all this petty stuff will not matter, to you or anyone else. It will become pages on an old chapter of your life, that you can tell others about both for laughter and wisdom as you take that position yourself, and begin to inspire others.
46. Mark Twain, because the words he spoke ring true as many authors words do. That they spoke the truth about the time they live in. That the era they know, whether childhood, youth, adolescence, adulthood, or age, is kept forever on the manuscripts they wrote and the words and lessons they speak in words that will never die, because they wrote these words, published them, and continued to write more.
47. Tree climbing, because what screams adventure like hoisting yourself up to the branch of a tree and climbing to the top, finding you are safer than you think. That this is a view often only children and plane pilots see. Not so much that you are a child still, but that you feel like one!
48. Showers - Because of how new you feel when you get out. Body has been cleansed, thoughts recognized, and an outfit one wants to wear is waiting.
49. Trips with family - Though sometimes hard and boring, they often end on a good note, as a closer family, and stronger inside jokes. An adventure you embark on, hoping you brought everything you need, all the writing to read, and paper to fill. That the car will last the whole way, and that the family will have a good time and find joy in the journey from home; to the destination, while there, and on the way home, when you know how close you are, how long it will be, and how antsy you have become.
50. Sunrise, because everything feels so open ended, fresh, free, clear, and bright. Not to mention it is gorgeous to watch.
